Russia's Foreign Ministry Condemns Drone Attack on Moscow; Kyiv Denies Involvement
The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a stern condemnation of the "terrorist attack attempts" carried out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces early on May 30 in Moscow and the Moscow region. According to the Armenian news agency Armenpress, the foreign ministry released a statement regarding the incident.
"Such attacks, while militarily senseless, appear to be directed solely against civilians with the aim of spreading panic among the peaceful population," the statement read.
Officials in the Russian Foreign Ministry added that "the support of the West to the Kyiv regime is pushing the leadership of Ukraine to adopt more reckless criminal actions."
"The assurances from NATO officials that the Kyiv regime would not strike deep into Russian territory seem to be completely false. The Russian side reserves the right to take the harshest measures in response to the terrorist attacks by the Kyiv regime," the statement concluded.
According to France24, the advisor to the head of Ukraine's presidential office, Mykhailo Podolyak, stated that Kyiv has no direct connection to the drone attack, but expressed satisfaction at witnessing the attacks and anticipating an increase in their frequency.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the attacks were carried out using eight drones of aircraft type. Of these, three were destroyed by electronic warfare means, losing control and veering off from their designated targets, while five were shot down by the "Pantsir-S" anti-aircraft missile system.
It should be noted that early this morning, drone strikes targeted residential buildings in the vicinity of Moscow.
