Putin Comments on Drone Attack on Moscow
The Ukrainian authorities are attempting to intimidate Russian citizens and provoke similar responses from Russia's leadership through drone attacks on Moscow. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin during his visit to the Zotovi Center on May 30, while commenting on the drone strikes targeting Moscow and its surrounding region early that morning.
According to TASS, the president linked the attack on the capital to recent strikes by Russian armed forces on the headquarters of Ukraine's military intelligence. Putin emphasized that Russia has been striking Ukrainian territory but does so with 'long-range precision weapons.'
'Two or three days ago, the Russian armed forces struck the headquarters of Ukraine's military intelligence. Simultaneously, the Kyiv regime chose another path: to terrorize Russian citizens and attack residential buildings. This is a clear sign of terrorist activity,' the Russian president stated.
Putin also noted that the goal of the drone attack on Moscow was to 'provoke a response from Russia.' He highlighted that the capital's air defense systems functioned 'normally, adequately' during the attack. 'Although, there are still things to work on,' Putin stressed.
It should be recalled that early this morning, drone strikes were executed against residential buildings in the Moscow region.
