Foreign Investors Withdraw $36 Billion from Russia

Foreign investors who left Russia have withdrawn around $36 billion from the country over the past year by selling their businesses. This was announced by Maxim Osadchin, head of the analytical department at БКФ bank, as reported by DW's Russian service.

Osadchin analyzed data from the Central Bank, which indicated that 200 transactions involving asset sales were conducted by companies that left Russia from March 2022 to March 2023.

It is noteworthy that foreign investors began departing from Russia last year after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the expansion of anti-Russian sanctions by the West.
