Unemployment Decreased in 2022 Compared to 2018: Prime Minister

In 2022, unemployment decreased to 13 percent compared to 15.5 percent in 2021. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during his speech at the joint session of the parliamentary committees discussing the execution of the 2022 state budget today, May 29.

“Unemployment has decreased by 6 percentage points compared to 2018. In 2018, unemployment was at 19 percent. Moreover, in the third quarter of 2022, the unemployment rate in Armenia was 11.6 percent, which is the lowest figure in the last 14 years. In December, a record number of job registrations was recorded in Armenia's history, totaling 704,000 registered jobs. However, this number is no longer актуальна, as 706,294 and 710,150 jobs were registered in March and April 2023, respectively,” said the Prime Minister.
