By the End of This Year, Patrol Service Will Operate Throughout Armenia: Ara Fidanyan

By the end of this year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs' patrol service will be implemented across the entire territory of the Republic. This was announced by Ara Fidanyan, the chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during a joint session of the Standing Committees of the National Assembly.

“Training for patrols in Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Tavush, and Aragatsotn regions has already been completed. However, the launch of the service was delayed until November,” he said.

Speaking about the representation of women in the police force, he noted that they currently make up 18.4 percent, instead of the expected 18.8 percent. “We aim to increase the number of female personnel in the patrol service to 30 percent by the end of 2024 through targeted recruitment of female officers,” he stated.

Regarding the average salary of police officers for the reporting year, Fidanyan mentioned that including bonuses, it amounted to 289,000 drams.
