Video: Suspect in Triple Homicide Arrested on Bagratuniats Street

The criminal investigators from the Mashtots Police Department acted upon received information in collaboration with colleagues from the Yerevan city administration. On May 24 at 6 PM, they arrested and took to the police station a 33-year-old man who had been wanted since last November by the Aparan Police Department on suspicion of murder, in Bagratuniats Street, Yerevan.

The incident occurred on June 19, 2022, during a dispute that erupted in the field area leading to the Nigavan village in the Aragatsotn province. During this incident, the 33-year-old man and his friend, both armed with hunting shotguns, fired numerous shots at a group of people with intent to kill. Three individuals lost their lives in this incident, while four others were hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

As a result of various measures carried out within the framework of the initiated criminal proceedings, the particularly serious crime was uncovered, and the motives for the dispute and the identities of the participants were clarified, along with the degree of involvement of each individual. While one of the shooters was found, the 33-year-old man registered in Yerevan had avoided questioning. This gap was filled, and the preliminary investigation is ongoing.
