Pashinyan Discusses Relations with Baku and Situation in Artsakh with OSCE Minsk Group American Co-Chair

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has discussed the normalization of relations with Azerbaijan and the situation in Artsakh with Luis Bono, the American co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group and senior advisor for negotiations in the Caucasus, according to the Armenian government.

The interlocutors discussed the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh resulting from Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor, and the issues related to the rights and security of the people of Artsakh under an internationally guaranteed dialogue mechanism.

Pashinyan presented the Armenian side's approaches to resolving the key issues at hand. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan also met with Bono. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that the discussants reviewed the ongoing process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, addressed the issues discussed during the recent negotiations in this regard, as well as the questions on which mutual agreement is still necessary.

The Ministry further states that Ararat Mirzoyan reaffirmed the Armenian side's commitment to establishing comprehensive and lasting peace in the region. The minister emphasized that, among other issues, it is crucial to refrain from the use of force or the threat of force, to establish clear borders and ensure border security, as well as to address the rights and security issues of the people of Artsakh under an internationally guaranteed dialogue mechanism.
