Kosovo's Actions Disrupt Efforts to Normalize Relations with Serbia: Blinken
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that the actions of the partially recognized Republic of Kosovo to seize municipal buildings are undermining efforts to normalize relations with Serbia. Blinken's remarks were published on the State Department's website.
"The United States strongly condemns the actions of the Kosovo government to forcibly seize municipal buildings," the statement said. According to Blinken, these actions by Kosovo's authorities were taken in defiance of suggestions from Washington and European countries.
"These steps have led to a sharp and unnecessary escalation of tensions," the State Department emphasized. The statement further noted that such actions would have implications for U.S.-Kosovo bilateral relations.
