Erdogan Calls on All Voters to Participate in the Presidential Elections Second Round

The current President of Turkey and candidate for a new term, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has called on all citizens with voting rights to participate in the second round of the presidential elections scheduled for May 28.

"I urge all our citizens to participate in the voting. Each of your votes is important. Your votes are crucial for the future of Turkey," said the Turkish leader during his last campaign speech on A Haber and ATV television channels on Friday.

Earlier that day, Erdogan held two campaign rallies and spoke at a meeting with representatives of women's organizations in Istanbul. He stated that if he wins the elections, he intends to participate in the summit of the European political community, which will take place in June in Chișinău.

"For starters, let the issue of the presidency be resolved on Sunday," he said.

On May 19, the Turkish Supreme Electoral Council published the results of the first round of the presidential elections in the country. According to these data, Erdogan received 49.52% of the votes, while the opposition leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu garnered 44.88%. Sinan Oğan dropped out of the race with 5.17%, urging his voters to support the incumbent president.

In the second round, which will be held on May 28, the candidate who receives the most votes will win. Many sociologists predict victory for Erdogan in the second round, estimating that he could gather between 52-55% of the votes.
