Tripartite Meeting Concludes: Putin on Nagorno-Karabakh and Blockade Issues
Despite the challenges, the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is developing towards resolution. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“One of the important directions is the work on transportation communications; today we discussed this quite thoroughly face-to-face. There are several unresolved issues, but in my opinion, they are purely technical in nature. These issues relate to terminology; they should provide an accurate understanding of the events following the signing of relevant documents. However, from my, and our three perspectives, these are overcome obstacles, meaning that, fundamentally, they do not exist; they are purely technical issues. We have now agreed that in the near future, in a week, the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan will meet; the date of the meeting will be coordinated, and they will resolve the yet unresolved issues. I think this is a good agreement that gives hope that the unresolved issues will be resolved,” Putin said.
According to the Armenian Prime Minister's Office, the tripartite meeting addressed issues related to the unblocking of regional transportation and economic infrastructures. An agreement has been reached to continue the discussions in a week's time during the meeting of the three countries' Deputy Prime Ministers.
