Pashinyan-Aliyev: A Game of Passes
Political scientist Suren Surenyan writes on his Facebook page:
“Pashinyan-Aliyev: A Game of Passes”
The impression is a sad one: Aliyev demanded that Pashinyan state that “Artsakh is Azerbaijan, and that’s that.” Pashinyan hurried to speak about recognizing Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, encompassing 86,600 square kilometers, without clarifying whether he recognizes Azerbaijan’s political entirety (according to Gurgen Arsenyan, yes) or not.
Aliyev says the Armenia-Azerbaijan border is conditional, and Pashinyan complements this with a foolish proclamation about a “cadastral certificate.” With this statement, Pashinyan essentially legitimizes Azerbaijan’s occupation of Armenian territories.
And finally, if even Pashinyan claims that Armenia has no “cadastral certificate,” how can he demand that the CSTO condemn the encroachments on Armenian territories?
