We are moving forward in stages: Andreasyan on the academic city
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia is negotiating proposals presented by German architects for the establishment of an academic city. This was stated by Minister Zhanna Andreasyan during a Q&A session with the government in the National Assembly.
In late April, German architects had arrived in Armenia, and during their visit, they had the opportunity to explore the areas where the academic city is planned to be established.
"Based on the studies conducted by the German architects who visited Armenia this year, we have already received a proposal regarding the timelines for developing the master plan. We are moving forward in stages, and in the first phase, we have prioritized the construction of the arts cluster. Currently, we are negotiating the details of these proposals so that everything is clearer and more detailed for us," said Andreasyan.
At present, there is clarity regarding the cost of the first phase of the works, but specific information will be shared soon.
She emphasized that parallel to this, the "Academic City" foundation has been established, which will be the implementing organization of the project, and a board of trustees will soon be created to manage the foundation.
The minister claimed that the cadastre committee has completed the inventory process of the properties allocated for the academic city. Decisions regarding the securing of specific properties to the academic city will be made in the near future.
Andreasyan expressed hope that they would be able to move to subsequent phases at a rapid pace.
