National Security Service Refuses to Answer Questions About 1 Ton of Cocaine

The National Security Service has refused to answer questions from Hetq regarding the 1 ton of cocaine imported into Armenia, considering the related circumstances to be pre-investigation secret.

About 250 million euros worth of cocaine was reported by the National Security Service on May 17, one week ago. The following day, we sent a written inquiry to the NSS for more details, as the information provided in the official statement was fragmented.

The NSS's statement indicated that during the investigation initiated on May 13, 2023, it was revealed that approximately 1 ton of cocaine (worth about 250 million euros) was imported into Armenia through transit countries—Panama, Italy, and Georgia—by a company operating in Armenia that specializes in fruit import from an Ecuadorian firm. This cocaine has been discovered and is currently in the possession of the National Security Service of Armenia.
