Video: Permission Denied for Christ's Statue on Mount Hatis; Opening to Be Next to Hatis, Tsarukyan
The leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan, addressed journalists regarding the construction of the Christ statue. He stated that the statue will not be placed on the summit of Mount Hatis, but rather next to it.
“The statue, which is 18 meters tall, has already been constructed, and paperwork is being finalized, with the opening likely to take place in 2024. Permission was not granted for the summit of Hatis, but it was allowed next to Hatis, where an ancient fortress existed 4,000 years ago. I have also transferred funds to restore the fortress, and the statue will be nearby for visitors to see,” he added. “We are currently working on the necessary permissions.”
