Video: Nine Settlements in Belgorod Region Evacuated; Russian Defense Ministry Releases Counterattack Footage

Nine settlements in the Belgorod region have been evacuated due to the outbreak of hostilities in the area. The Russian Defense Ministry has released footage, claiming it shows the destruction of Ukrainian groups.

According to Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, at least 12 civilians have been injured in ongoing clashes lasting more than 24 hours, and one person died during the evacuation. The circumstances surrounding the death of an 82-year-old woman are still unclear.

The Russian side reports that Ukrainian armed forces' diversionary groups invaded the Belgorod region early yesterday morning. Official Kyiv asserts that the operation in Belgorod is being carried out by fighters from the “Russian Volunteer Corps” and the “Legion of Free Russia,” made up of Russian expatriates.
