Armenian Authorities Communicate with Artsakh Leaders Before and After Negotiations, Says Ruling Party Secretary
The secretary of the parliamentary faction of Armenia's ruling political force assures that Armenian authorities are in communication with Artsakh leaders before and after all negotiations. He emphasizes that Artsakh has always been informed about everything.
According to Armenpress, the ruling faction MP made this statement during a briefing with journalists in the National Assembly.
“We should note that we communicate specifically with the authorities of Artsakh before and after all negotiations, and the authorities of Artsakh have always been aware of everything,” he stated. He also referred to the statement released by the Artsakh Parliament, where Artsakh MPs deemed unacceptable Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's declaration that Armenia is ready to recognize Azerbaijan's territorial integrity of 86,600 square kilometers, which also includes Nagorno-Karabakh, but that there should be dialogue regarding the rights and security of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh between Stepanakert and Baku, under international mechanisms.
“Regarding the statements from the Artsakh Parliament, we understand that the parliament is a representative body of different political entities, and I evaluate various statements as very normal,” he said.
He wanted to emphasize once again the next steps, which is to ensure the internationally recognized sovereign borders of the Republic of Armenia, covering 29,800 square kilometers, and the rights and security of the Armenian people living in Nagorno-Karabakh. “Our compatriots living in Nagorno-Karabakh should live securely on their land and exercise their rights. We see this path through Baku-Stepanakert dialogue under international mechanisms, where the people of Artsakh, as was also expressed by MPs in the Artsakh Parliament yesterday, can realize both self-determination and all rights, while the Republic of Armenia will support our compatriots in Artsakh in this endeavor through all its diplomatic channels,” he concluded.
