Zelensky Clarifies His Words About Bakhmut

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has clarified his words about Bakhmut in Japan, stating that the city is not entirely captured by the Russians at this time. Zelensky made these remarks during a press conference in Hiroshima, according to pravda.com.ua.

“We are holding our ground and fighting thanks to the courage of our fighters and our intellect. We do not let people die; for us, people are a treasure, and that is the most important thing we have. There is no misunderstanding. I clearly understand what is happening in Bakhmut, and we all clearly understand why this is happening. I cannot share our military's tactical viewpoints with you, but we understand a little more, and we will win. Today, our military is performing very important tasks; whether they are in Bakhmut or at some other points, I won’t say, but this speaks to the fact that Bakhmut has not been captured by the Russian Federation today. There can be no two or three comments on this,” Zelensky stated.

The source elaborates that reporters sought clarification from Zelensky regarding his response to questions about the capture of Bakhmut. The Ukrainian president had replied Sunday morning that Bakhmut is not under Russian control, while many international media outlets reported that he said Ukrainian Armed Forces do not control Bakhmut.
