Gayane Hakobyan Transferred to Abovyan Penitentiary: Lawyer

Gayane Hakobyan, the mother of Zhora Martirosyan who died in the 44-day war, has been transferred from the Yerevan Shengavit administrative court to a detention center.

Lawyer Ruben Melikyan informed Sputnik Armenia about this development. Earlier, it was reported that Judge Zhora Chichoyan had decided to place Hakobyan in custody for one month.

“There is only one women’s correctional facility, which is the Abovyan penitentiary. It is presumed that she has been transferred there,” Melikyan stated. He noted that although the process has taken place outside the transparent legal framework, the lawyers will maintain a formal approach and carry out all processes stemming from legal proceedings.
