Video: Moscow-Tbilisi Flight Lands in Georgia, Protesters Arrested

The Moscow-Tbilisi flight has landed in Georgia. The first direct flight in four years was greeted by protesters with banners reading "You are not welcome here" and "Russian plane, go back to ***".

The local police have closed the terminal of Shota Rustaveli International Airport without explanation. Reports indicate that the area is surrounded.

It has been noted that police have started arresting protesters near the Tbilisi airport. The President of Georgia referred to the arrival of the first flight from Moscow after the resumption of air traffic as an undesired flight.

Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin lifted the ban on flights from Russian airlines to Georgia and the visa regime for Georgian citizens.
