Samvel Babayan Not Opposed to the Idea of Establishing a State Defense Committee and Being Offered Membership

The President of the Artsakh 'United Homeland' Party, Samvel Babayan, has provided a commentary regarding the governance model proposed by the Speaker of the Artsakh National Assembly.

‘In response to media inquiries, we announce that on May 18, the proposal by Artsakh National Assembly Speaker Arthur Tovmasyan to establish a State Defense Committee and offer Samvel Babayan membership in that body is fundamentally supported by Samvel Babayan,‘ the statement reads. ‘Motivated by the goal of overcoming the crisis in Artsakh, Samvel Babayan is ready to discuss the powers and functions of the newly created body,’” the press release states.
