Photos: Around 300 Cubic Meters of Waste Burning at Nubarashen Landfill
The firefighting efforts at the Nubarashen landfill are ongoing. This information was provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Rescue Service.
On May 18, the National Center for Crisis Management was informed about a fire breaking out at the landfill in the Nubarashen administrative district of Yerevan.
It was reported that the firefighting operations have involved two water trucks from the "Yerevan Waste Management and Sanitation" company, two dump trucks from the municipality, and one excavator. Additionally, five fire and rescue teams from the Yerevan Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, along with the on-duty group from the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Organization Department, have been engaged in the firefighting efforts.
It was noted that the firefighting operations are continuing, with five dump trucks, five tractors, four water trucks, and two fire crews from the Yerevan Rescue Department present at the scene.
According to preliminary data, approximately 300 cubic meters of waste are burning over an area of 4 hectares.
