Parents of Fallen Soldiers Block Arshakunyats Avenue

Parents of soldiers who died in the 44-day Artsakh war have blocked Arshakunyats Avenue from both sides.

It should be noted that in the Yerevan Shengavit Administrative District, the first instance court is examining the legality of the arrest of Gayane Hakobyan, the mother of fallen soldier Zhora Martirosyan.

“We have blocked the road until Gayane is released. We believe the drivers of these vehicles will also come out and join us. We will keep the road closed until she is freed,” said Garik Galeyan, the father of fallen soldier Mkhtiar Galeyan.

The parents also started chanting, “Nikol, traitor!” Opposition members of the National Assembly who were present joined the spontaneous action. The parents are periodically moving along Arshakunyats Avenue, blocking different sections of the road.

Before blocking Arshakunyats, a tense situation had developed in front of the court, where parents tried to enter, which police did not allow.
