Human Rights Defender Visits and Holds Private Conversation with the Mother of Fallen Soldier Gayane Martirosyan
Today, on May 19, the Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan visited the detention center of the Yerevan Police Department, where she held a private conversation with the mother of fallen soldier Zhora Martirosyan, Azgush (Gayane) Martirosyan. This information was provided by the Human Rights Defender's office.
She was accompanied by representatives of her office, including a doctor. The Defender assessed her health condition and reviewed her medical documentation on-site.
Human Rights Defender representatives had previously visited the Shengavit police department on May 17, immediately after the arrest of the parents of fallen soldiers, and held conversations with them. The following day, on May 18, they met with Gayane Martirosyan at the detention center.
It was reported that Gayane Martirosyan had certain health issues and had refused to eat. During these visits, no complaints were made regarding the treatment of individuals by the police department or the conditions of detention.
As part of these visits, complaints regarding state bodies and officials have already been summarized, and relevant letters have been sent to the competent authorities for necessary clarifications.
