Court Decision on Gayane Martirosyan's Case to be Announced Tomorrow at 3:00 PM

The court session regarding Gayane Martirosyan, mother of deceased serviceman Jora Martirosyan who fell during the 44-day war, has concluded. The decision will be announced tomorrow at 3:00 PM. This was stated by lawyer Ruben Melikyan during a conversation with reporters near the court today, May 19.

"The judge noted that, unlike many other cases, he wishes to publish not just the conclusive part of the decision but the entire ruling. Yesterday’s session was quite intense and comprehensive, which could justify this request. It’s a comprehensible decision, yet not desirable at all," he said.

Ruben Melikyan added that they reaffirmed their main argument, seeking that detention not be applied and that the individual be released without alternative measures. "We also expressed our willingness to have the four alternatives we mentioned applied separately or in combination — house arrest, administrative oversight, bail, and guarantees. We requested the court to consider all of these. Unfortunately, the investigator did not change his stance and even objected to house arrest," Melikyan said.

It is important to note that the Shengavit General Jurisdiction Court was examining the motion for the detention of Gayane Martirosyan today, May 19, who lost her son during the 44-day war.
