Arman Tatoyan on the Situation in Tegh, Aravus, and Kornidzor Villages

The Director of the Center for Law and Justice, Arman Tatoyan, former Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, presented the findings of the latest fact-finding missions in the villages of Tegh, Aravus, and Kornidzor in the Syunik Province regarding the Azerbaijani criminal incursions into the sovereign territory of Armenia.

“The community and the roads of Armenia are under armed Azerbaijani target, and the M12 interstate automobile road (Goris-Artsakh) has been blocked. During the visit, we documented onsite that the illegal presence of Azerbaijani armed personnel has made it impossible for people to live their normal, safe lives; they are unable to utilize their legal pastures and agricultural lands. Even the homes of peaceful residents, along with their adjacent lands, schools, or kindergartens, are under Azerbaijani target,” he noted.

The policy of hatred and enmity of the Azerbaijani authorities, the protection and impunity of their armed personnel's crimes against our people, has been continuously proven with evidence. Both the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and the Border Guards directly protect the peaceful population from Azerbaijani criminal acts. Consequently, the lives and health of our armed personnel are also under the direct protection of international law.

We express our gratitude to international lawyers Karo Ghazaryan and Garnik Kərkonyan for their invaluable support in documenting evidence, analysis, and drafting the report.
