A Knife Found on Person Arrested at Protest Site, Police Report
The Police of the Republic of Armenia reported that on May 19, at 14:45, an individual who, according to preliminary information, had no connection to the protest taking place on Arshakuniats Avenue, exhibited inappropriate behavior and shouted insults.
The officers of the patrol service of the Yerevan division apprehended the individual and took him to the Shengavit Police Station. A 22-year-old young man was found to be in possession of a folding knife measuring 20 mm in length. An examination has been ordered, and a criminal case has been initiated.
Earlier, we reported that a tense situation had developed at the first-instance court of the Shengavit administrative district, where clashes erupted between the parents of fallen soldiers and the police. Law enforcement detained one of the participants of the protest.
