Ukrainian Forces' Counteroffensive Will Start in 'Counting Days,' Poroshenko
Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko asserts that the Ukrainian forces' counteroffensive will commence in 'counting days.' He made the corresponding statement in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Mundo on Thursday.
According to the former head of state, the Ukrainian offensive will not have to wait 'months or weeks, it will start any day now.' 'We are preparing to strike at different points,' Poroshenko stated.
'Europe considers Ukraine to be its most critical element of security,' he believes.
The topic of a potential counteroffensive by Ukrainian forces has been discussed in the media for several months, with various timelines mentioned. Previously, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the blatant speculation by Western countries regarding the upcoming Ukrainian counteroffensive confirms their direct involvement in the conflict.
At the end of April, Ukraine's Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov announced that the Ukrainian army is globally prepared for a counteroffensive.
