Artsakh Should Not Have to Rely on Humanitarian Convoys, Power
The head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power, stated during a hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Committee that sending American assistance to Artsakh is impossible due to the blockade of the Lachin corridor.
She added that food supplies should reach the region through commercial routes, but due to road blockages and the installation of checkpoints, this is currently unfeasible. Therefore, when possible, assistance is being delivered by Russian peacekeeping forces and the ICRC.
Power also emphasized that Nagorno-Karabakh should not have to rely on humanitarian convoys, making the opening of the road imperative.
