Appeal Filed Against Arrest of Mother of Fallen Soldier Accused of Kidnapping Ashot Pashinyan

The decision to arrest Gayane Hakobyan, the mother of fallen soldier Zhora Martirosyan, has been appealed. This information was shared by Hakobyan's lawyer Vahan Hovhannisyan on his Facebook page.

It should be noted that Gayane Hakobyan is accused of attempting to kidnap Ashot Pashinyan, the son of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"The appeal regarding the legality of Mrs. Gayane's arrest was submitted to the court at 18:02," Hovhannisyan revealed.

Recall that the newspaper affiliated with the Prime Minister's family, 'Haykakan Zhamanak', reported yesterday that members of the NGO 'Call of the Sons' attempted to kidnap the Prime Minister's son. According to the newspaper, the parents of fallen soldiers forced Ashot Pashinyan into their vehicle, but he managed to escape from the car, which was momentarily stopped, resulting in him being hit by a vehicle following the members of the organization.

It later became known that Ashot Pashinyan's report to the Armenian police had been forwarded to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, and a criminal case was opened under the article about kidnapping. One person, Gayane Hakobyan, has been arrested.

On the same night, human rights defender Ruben Melikyan reported that Gayane Hakobyan's health had deteriorated, and she was taken by ambulance and accompanied by police to the 'Erebuni' medical center. In the morning, it was revealed that Gayane Hakobyan was transferred from 'Erebuni' Medical Center to a detention facility.

The Investigative Committee stated that Ashot Pashinyan has been recognized as a victim.
