Yerevan City Council Elections to Take Place on September 17th: CEC Chairman

The Yerevan City Council elections will be held on September 17th. This was stated by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Armenia, Vahagn Hovakimyan, during a broadcast on the Public Television.

The CEC chairman emphasized that the Government, guided by the electoral code, must set the date, which will be confirmed when the government approves it. He mentioned: 'The upcoming elections are planned between September 10-20, and September 17 falls on a Sunday within that ten-day period, however, it is ultimately the government's responsibility to designate the date.'
