Kılıçdaroğlu Accuses Erdoğan of Being Pro-Russian and Clinging to Russia's Door

The opposition candidate for the presidency from the "People's Alliance" party, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, has accused the current leader of the Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, of exhibiting a pro-Russian policy and supporting Moscow.

"We will not leave our homeland to a fake global leader who was yesterday a co-chair of the Greater Middle East and is now focused on Russia, clinging to its door," Kılıçdaroğlu said.

The politician released a video message on Twitter.

On the evening of May 16, Erdoğan stated in an interview with CNN Turk that he intends to support the existing policy regarding relations with Russia and other countries if he wins the presidential elections.

"Until now, we have adhered to the policy of 'embracing' all countries—Russia, the USA, China, and all Western countries, maintaining constant contact. As the President of Turkey, I cannot allow myself to be offended or angry. I have met with everyone in the best way and I will continue to meet because it is beneficial for the country. When you antagonize one country, you lose," Erdoğan said.

On May 11, Kılıçdaroğlu accused Russia of interfering in Turkey's internal affairs.
