Armenia to Have Military Attaché in India

The Armenian Embassy in India will have a military attaché. The draft decision to establish this position is included in the agenda for the upcoming session of the Armenian government.

The draft is part of a package of non-reporting issues and will be presented by Armenia's Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan. It states that the increased interest shown by Indian state structures of the defense industry, private organizations, and companies in cooperating has created the necessity to establish a military attaché position for the Republic of Armenia in the Republic of India.

The military attaché will carry out representative work, which includes establishing and deepening official ties with the military departments of both countries, developing relations in the military sector, constant monitoring of the implementation of cooperation programs, and assisting in organizing visits of delegations from the ministry and armed forces.
