Video: Over 2.7 Tons of Cocaine Seized in Italy, Destined for Armenia
Italian financial ministry and customs officials have seized more than 2.7 tons of cocaine at the port of Gioia Tauro in Calabria, as reported by the Italian news agency ANSA on Tuesday.
According to Ansa, the drug packages were hidden in shipping containers carrying bananas that had arrived from Ecuador and were destined for Armenia. Law enforcement estimates the street value of this quantity of cocaine to be approximately 800 million euros.
