Ukrainian Supreme Court Chief Arrested During Bribery Attempt
Vsevolod Knyazev, the Chief Justice of Ukraine's Supreme Court, has been arrested in Kyiv on suspicion of accepting a $3 million bribe, as reported by Ukrainska Pravda citing sources from law enforcement agencies.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) announced that they have uncovered a scheme of "widespread corruption in the Supreme Court, particularly concerning the receipt of improper benefits by the court's leadership and judges."
“Urgent investigative actions are currently underway. Further details will be provided later,” NABU stated in their publication.
Authorities have yet to officially confirm Knyazev's detention.
