RA Investigative Committee and FBI Sign Cooperation Agreement
The Investigative Committee of Armenia and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States have signed a memorandum to jointly combat transnational crimes. This information was reported by the press service of the RA Investigative Committee.
“The document was signed by Arsen Ayvazyan, Deputy President of the RA Investigative Committee, and Heather Berg, Legal Attaché of the FBI for Armenia and Georgia. It aims to enhance the effectiveness of the efforts of the RA Investigative Committee and the FBI in the fight against transnational crimes,” the statement noted.
The memorandum addresses combating cybercrime, human trafficking, organized crime, illegal international activities in the fields of economy, finance, and banking, including money laundering, all forms of illegal immigration, trafficking, as well as other types of crime.
It was mentioned that cooperation based on the memorandum will take place through the implementation of coordinated operations, information exchange in the law enforcement sector, strengthening existing collaborative ties between the parties, as well as methodological support in the area of professional capacity development.
