Military Exercises for Reservists to Take Place from August 1 to October 13 in Armenia

From August 1 to October 13, 2023, military exercises for reservists will be held in Armenia, as presented by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.

The adoption of the decision is motivated by the need to improve military skills, retrain, and prepare reservists recorded in the first group, including privates, junior officers, and officers, for possible engagement in combat duty, as well as the need to involve transport vehicles from military transport entities to ensure the exercises.

This presentation is also based on the necessity to implement the plan for conducting military exercises scheduled for 2023, in accordance with the relevant decision of the Government of Armenia in 2022.

Up to 2,352 citizens will participate in the exercises, including 2,115 from the ranks of privates and junior officers, 110 from senior junior officers, and 127 from officer reservists, specializing in various military categories (motorized infantry, communications, reconnaissance, engineering) as well as artillery specialist roles.

During the announced military exercises, each citizen will be engaged for no more than 25 calendar days.

The military exercises will proceed in the following phases:

• From August 1 to August 25, 2023: up to 788 citizens will be involved, including 708 privates and junior officers, 25 senior junior officers, and 55 officer reservists.
• From August 3 to August 27, 2023: up to 56 privates and junior officers will participate.
• From August 15 to September 8, 2023: up to 388 citizens will be involved, with 349 from the ranks of privates and junior officers, 17 senior junior officers, and 22 officer reservists.
• From August 29 to September 22, 2023: up to 420 citizens will participate, including 376 privates and junior officers, 18 senior junior officers, and 26 officer reservists.
• From September 4 to September 28, 2023: up to 350 citizens will be involved with 313 being privates and junior officers, 25 senior junior officers, and 12 officer reservists.
• From September 19 to October 13, 2023: again up to 350 citizens will participate, comprising 313 privates and junior officers, 25 senior junior officers, and 12 officer reservists.

To ensure the military exercises from August 1 to October 13, 2023, a total of up to 205 units of transport vehicles with military transport duties will be engaged, with each vehicle's involvement limited to no more than 7 calendar days, except for road construction vehicles, which will be used for no more than 25 calendar days, in accordance with the attached schedule.
