Double Charging of Traffic Police Fines to be Excluded
The Enforcement Service is improving the citizen service system. Recently, a new program for accepting group payments has been implemented, which will allow citizens to make payments for several enforcement proceedings simultaneously.
This was announced today at a press conference by Khachatur Igityan, head of the Citizen Service Division of the Enforcement Service, noting that this will simplify the work of both their employees and the citizens.
“Suppose a citizen needs to make payments for 10 proceedings. There is a necessity to perform separate actions for each. Now, the employee collects the total amount in one operation, resulting in time savings for both the citizen and the employee,” said Khachatur Igityan.
It has been noted that a “Personal Office” electronic platform has been introduced on the official website of the service, where citizens, by registering, will be able to review the enforcement proceedings against them, monitor the progress of enforcement actions, and track their payments.
According to the speakers, one of the most common issues is the double charging of traffic police fines, when a citizen makes a payment but is charged again for the same amount after some time. To retrieve the double charged amount, the citizen often has to go through a series of hassles.
Varduhi Petrosyan, assistant to the chief enforcer and press secretary, informed that a systematic approach is being applied to address the problem. “The Enforcement Service has made appropriate software improvements in collaboration with the Central Bank and other partners, aimed at eliminating the process of double charging in the future. For example, if a citizen has committed a violation but, due to certain circumstances, is late in making the payment, that’s when a case is initiated in the service. In such cases, the enforcement is done automatically, and the enforcer cannot see whether the citizen has made a payment at that moment or not. The new program will fill those gaps and eliminate double charges or payments in the future,” she stated.
