Clashes Resume in Sudan; Death Toll Reaches 822

The Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (special units) continued their conflict in Khartoum and its surroundings today. According to local media reports, explosions have been heard in several districts. This information was reported by the TASS agency.

According to Al-Hadath television, fierce clashes have occurred to the east and south of Khartoum. Residents of the capital report artillery shelling and airstrikes on the locations of the special forces.

On the night of May 16, per Al-Hadath's information, the warring parties shelled the cities of North Khartoum and Omdurman. As reported today by the Sudanese Doctors Association, the number of civilian casualties from clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces has reached 822. On May 2, Sudanese doctors reported that 447 people had lost their lives due to the conflict, with over 2,200 injured.
