Russian Azimut Airline Allowed to Fly to Georgia

The Russian Azimut airline will start flights to Georgia from May 17. Georgia has granted rights for these flights. This information is reported by Ria Novosti, citing the civil aviation agency.

According to Givi Davitashvili, head of Georgia's Civil Aviation Agency, in an interview with Imedi TV, the country's authorities are considering applications from five airlines to operate direct flights between Georgia and Russia.

It is noteworthy that the ban on flights to Georgia for Russian aircraft was in effect since 2019. Additionally, on May 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to resume air communication between the two countries.
