What Restrictions Have Been Imposed Today in Turkey
Turkey has imposed several restrictions on the day of the presidential and parliamentary elections, as reported by the Supreme Election Council (SEC) of Turkey.
Accordingly, the sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on election day from 06:00 to 00:00. With the exception of those responsible for maintaining security and order in residential neighborhoods, everyone is prohibited from carrying weapons.
Furthermore, all leisure venues, such as cafes and internet cafes, will be closed on election day. Restaurants that are classified as leisure venues may only serve food. Weddings are prohibited until 18:00.
Until 18:00, predictions in the press regarding the elections and their results are also prohibited. The SEC will release news and announcements related to the elections between 18:00 and 21:00. After 21:00, all broadcasts will be free.
Military academy cadets and inmates in correctional facilities will not be allowed to participate in the voting.
