Video: Erdoğan Supporters Take to Istanbul Streets After Mayor's Declaration of His Defeat

Supporters of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have taken to the streets of Istanbul to show their support for the current president of Turkey. Earlier, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu announced that the current results of the presidential elections held on Sunday indicate a victory for the united opposition candidate, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

“According to our data, Kılıçdaroğlu is receiving 53.87 percent of the votes and winning the elections,” said İmamoğlu. He emphasized that it is necessary to disregard the information about the elections from the official Anadolu Agency, which İmamoğlu stated is “hiding and distorting” the actual results.

It is noteworthy that the latest data from Turkey's Supreme Election Council indicates that, after processing 50% of the ballot boxes, Erdoğan is receiving 52.1% of the votes, while his opposition rival Kılıçdaroğlu is receiving 41.9%.
