Briefing Held at the Ministry of Defense of Armenia

From May 11 to 12, a briefing was held at the Ministry of Defense of Armenia regarding the situation created as a result of Azerbaijani provocations towards the Gegharkunik region of Armenia, with participation from military attachés of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia and representatives of the European Union observation mission. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

Specifically, operational information was presented to the military attachés regarding the course of actions, directions, and measures used, as well as about the official disinformation spread by Azerbaijan during and following hostilities.

It was noted that due to necessary defensive actions by the Armed Forces of Armenia, the objectives of Azerbaijani military operations were completely thwarted.

It is recalled that on May 11, Azerbaijani military units fired upon Armenian positions located near Sotk using artillery and mortar systems. As a result of this provocation, the Armenian side reported 4 wounded.

On the same day, Azerbaijani forces used artillery against Norabaki in the Gegharkunik region and mortars towards Verin Shorzha.

On May 12, Azerbaijan fired towards the village of Kut and used UAVs towards Sotk. As a result of enemy fire, one soldier was killed and two were wounded. Following two days of provocations, the Armenian side has reported a total of 1 fatality (Narek Norairi Baghdasaryan, born in 2003) and 6 injuries.
