VIDEO: All Our Problems are Between Ararat and Aragats, Says Nikol Pashinyan
Yesterday evening, the Prime Minister of Armenia visited the village of Nerkhin Bazmaberd in the Aragatsotn province, where he met with the 8th grade students and teaching staff of Yerevan's No. 11 Primary School and Nerkhin Bazmaberd Secondary School.
While speaking with the children around a campfire, Nikol Pashinyan asked them about the highest mountain, to which a majority of the students responded, “Ararat,” while some said “Aragats.”
“Our greatest problem is that the one who said 'Ararat' was talking about something else, while the one who said 'Aragats' was talking about Armenia,” noted Pashinyan, inquiring what our biggest issue is. Responding to this, one of the students remarked, “not knowing history.”
Nikol Pashinyan stated, “History is so diverse that any conclusion can be drawn. All of our current problems, which we face today, are related to this issue. We are groping between the concepts of homeland and state. The problem is that the homeland is not the same for us as the state. My understanding is that we must choose the state; otherwise, we will continually lose. Therefore, for me, the correct answer is that the highest mountain is Aragats. All our problems lie between Ararat and Aragats,” emphasized Nikol Pashinyan.
