Government Proposes State Fee for Online Taxis
The government is proposing to establish a state fee for online taxis. On May 11, a working discussion took place with the participation of deputies and government members regarding the legislative regulations of taxi services on electronic platforms. This was reported by Mediahub.
The draft prepared by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures proposes amendments to the law on "Automobile Transport," adding the concept of passenger transportation services via electronic platforms to the legislation. The activity of registering and transferring passenger orders through electronic platforms is suggested to be defined as a notification-subject activity.
Considering the significant involvement of individual drivers in the sector, who have no tax obligations and operate under unequal competitive conditions compared to those conducting legal activities in the sector, it is necessary to establish tax obligations for economic actors, utilizing new mechanisms and ensuring a favorable competitive environment for legal passenger transportation organizations.
