When Azerbaijan Fails in Negotiations, It Turns to Use of Force: Expert

I do not expect any positive outcomes from the negotiation process or discussions, regardless of where they are held—be it Washington, Brussels, or Moscow. This was stated by Azerbaijani expert Tatevik Hayrapetyan in an interview with Hetq, referring to the upcoming trilateral meeting between Pashinyan, Aliyev, and Michel in Brussels on May 14.

According to the expert, the Armenian side has clearly understood Azerbaijan's tactics, which involves constantly pushing forth new demands in an attempt to extract new concessions from Armenia.

“Moreover, when Azerbaijan fails in the negotiation process, it resorts to the use of force and the threat of force,” she said.

Tatevik Hayrapetyan believes that the primary issue for the Armenian side in the negotiation process should be the exclusion of the use of force and the threat of force, and raising this matter publicly.

“When you say that you are ready to recognize Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, against this backdrop, for example, Aliyev speaks about his claims over Syunik,” she criticized the authorities' approach.

In her opinion, by doing so, the Armenian government is provoking Aliyev's appetite.
