VIDEO: I Was Aware of the 'Nemesis' Statue, But I Did Not Inform the Prime Minister, Hrachya Sargsyan

Former Yerevan mayor Hrachya Sargsyan stated in a conversation with journalists that he was aware of the 'Nemesis' statue but did not inform the Prime Minister about it.

He noted that in his opinion, 'Nemesis' is a historical fact and has been recorded as such. 'Should the Turkish leadership now demand that we remove this information from our textbooks? It’s ridiculous. I believe they should not interfere in our internal affairs,' he emphasized.

It should be noted that the installation of the 'Nemesis' statue in Yerevan has caused discontent in Turkey. Following this, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey would take additional measures if the 'Nemesis' monument is not dismantled.
