Tragic Incident: Father Commits Suicide with Son's Gun in Yerevan

On May 9th, a tragic incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 14:50, the Police Department of the Republic of Armenia received a call from the city's 1-03 emergency medical center indicating that a team of emergency doctors had responded to a residence on L. Khachikyan Street, where an injured citizen was discovered.

According to shamshyan.com, police and investigators who arrived at the scene determined that at approximately 14:30 on the same day, 63-year-old Simon M. had shot himself with a smoothbore shotgun of the Saiga type inside his home. A criminal case has been initiated at the Shengavit Investigative Division regarding the incident. Based on the investigator's decision, several forensic examinations, including an autopsy, have been ordered.

Reports indicate that the gun used by the father for his suicide belonged to his 22-year-old son.
