Senior Justice Official Attempted to Transfer Prohibited Items to Inmate

On May 9, 2023, around 09:00, officers from the operational department of the Armenian Ministry of Justice's "Inmate Hospital" penitentiary institution, acting on previously obtained information, searched the security service officer, Senior Justice Official K.K.

During the search, K.K. voluntarily removed and handed over a polyethylene package containing 2 mobile phones, 2 USB cables, and a charging device from his sports bag. No other prohibited items were found in K.K.'s possession.

K.K. verbally stated that the prohibited items were intended to be transferred to inmate M.A. in exchange for a previously received payment.

K.K. was arrested by the officers of the operational department of the "Inmate Hospital" penitentiary and taken to the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, where a criminal case was initiated.
