Video: Peacekeeping Forces Withdrawn, Azerbaijanis Have Infiltrated – Melikset Poghosyan

On May 8, former Syunik Governor Melikset Poghosyan spoke with reporters at the "Yerablur" Pantheon, addressing comments regarding Azerbaijani advances in the area of Tegh village. He noted, "They have moved forward over a 5 km stretch, they have infiltrated. The Russian peacekeeping forces that were stationed there have pulled out, they have infiltrated. There are posts there that have moved either 5 meters forward or back."

He emphasized that border forces should be maintaining that area, but clashes occur there every day. "Our side and their side cannot carry out engineering work; there are gunshots," he said.

Regarding the territorial defense forces, he stated, "The territorial defense from Tegh to Khaznavar maintains 26 combat positions. We have reinforced the protection of the armed forces so that they can fulfill their mission today. The nation must become an army. Our numbers are few; theirs are many. It was the same in the 1990s, but we managed to resolve our issues together. This is not just about sleeping well; it is about thinking. I could also come to Yerevan and live in peace, getting involved in nothing, but my type cannot remain at peace."
