Berlusconi Releases Video Message After One Month Hospitalization
Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has made his first public statement since being hospitalized a month ago, addressing his 'Forza Italia' party in a video message on Saturday.
Berlusconi told party members that their strength is a "significant and faithful support" for the ruling majority, adding that he is proud of the government's achievements so far, including the reduction of wage taxes.
Berlusconi was hospitalized on April 5 at Milan's San Raffaele Hospital due to a lung infection, and doctors later diagnosed him with chronic leukemia.
His party is the smallest in the governing coalition led by Giorgia Meloni, which also includes Matteo Salvini's League. While Berlusconi's party has a presence in the Senate, it does not hold any ministerial positions.
